HEALING

Healing is an open-access, multidisciplinary, and peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes high-quality research across a wide spectrum of health and therapeutic sciences. This is an official journal of the International Institute for Complementary & Alternative Therapy, Kolkata, India. The journal was started in the year 2025, and the official language of publishing is English. The journal publishes only one issue per year. The journal is published and managed by SPJ Publications Pvt. Ltd. 

Aim and Scope

Healing is dedicated to encouraging scholarly dialogue and the dissemination of innovative research in areas that connect health, culture, and therapeutic practice. The journal maintains strict academic standards, and all submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough peer-review process to ensure originality, scientific quality, and integrity. The journal particularly focuses on:

• Allied health sciences and related disciplines
• Complementary and alternative approaches supporting physical and mental well-being
• Creative and expressive therapies, including art, music, drama, dance, and movement-based healing
• Biomedical research, clinical applications, and case-based evidence
• Cross-cultural perspectives on health, wellness, and healing systems
• Traditional practices and cultural rituals with therapeutic relevance
• Legal, ethical, and social awareness related to health and healing practices

Types of Articles Accepted

The journal accepts a variety of manuscript types to accommodate different forms of academic contribution:

1. Original Research Articles (3,000–6,000 words): Full reports of original scientific studies.
2. Reviews and Mini-Reviews (3,000–7,000 words / 1,500–3,000 words): Critical summaries of existing literature.
3. Short Communications (1,500–2,500 words): Brief reports of novel or preliminary findings.
4. Research Notes (up to 1,500 words): Concise updates or methodological insights.
5. Letters to the Editor (up to 1,000 words): Scholarly opinions or responses to published work.
6. Scientific Reports (2,500–4,000 words): Detailed methodological or experimental studies.
7. Case Studies (2,000–3,500 words): In-depth analysis of specific clinical or practical cases.

Licensing

All articles published in this journal are freely available under an open access model and are licensed according to the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). This license allows readers to read, download, share, copy, and adapt the published material for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source of publication.

Digital Presence and Preservation

The healing journal ensures a reliable and lasting digital presence through Crossref, which serves as the journal's primary platform for digital identification and scholarly linking. All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) via Crossref, enabling permanent accessibility, accurate citation, and seamless linking across global research platforms. Crossref supports long-term discoverability and citation tracking by maintaining persistent metadata records for each article. This ensures that journal content remains identifiable, traceable, and accessible to the academic community.

Copyright Policy

Authors retain full ownership of the copyright to their published work. By submitting and publishing an article in the journal, authors grant SPJ Publication a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and promote the article in both digital and print formats. This agreement does not restrict authors' rights to use their work. Authors may freely reuse their published material for academic teaching, conference presentations, institutional repositories, or future research and publications, provided that proper acknowledgement is given to the original publication in the journal.

Advertising Policy

The Journal accepts advertisements in both online and print formats. All advertisements are clearly separated from editorial content, and editorial decisions remain completely independent of commercial or financial interests. The journal and publisher do not endorse any advertised products or services. Advertisements that are misleading, deceptive, inappropriate, offensive, discriminatory, or harmful to health (such as tobacco or alcohol products) are not accepted. The journal reserves the right to reject or remove advertisements at any time if they are deemed unsuitable. Drug and product advertisements must be verifiable, include required regulatory approvals, and clearly state generic names of active ingredients where applicable. Advertising content will not target specific articles or influence editorial integrity.
